Library Story Time

I mentioned a few posts back that we recently finished a 6 week session of story time at the library.  Macy loved it.  There are 10 or so kids in the class.  It starts with a book, then songs and finger play, then we read the book again, and then bubbles.  I think her favorite is the the songs and finger play.  Itsy Bitsy Spider is her absolute favorite song ever.  She asks me for it all the time, then laughs and laughs when I sing it.  Since they sing this song too, it's always a big hit for her.  Most of the kids' favorite part was the bubbles.  You can see Macy loved that too.

It's so funny to watch all the kids personalities.  Most of the kids are off walking around, or getting into things.  Macy prefers to sit on my lap.  When she does get up, she will walk a few feet away, then run back to me and plop down in my lap, over and over.  The other moms get a kick out of that.

After the class is over, we go to the children's section of the library and read a few books.

The library story times start back up again in April.  We are looking forward to that.  In the mean time, we have her weekly playgroup.  We also made friends with a few of the moms and tots from our library group and they are coming over for a play-date next week.

I cherish this age, when they are old enough to do things together, but still aren't in any kind of school.  I get them all to myself.  I remember all the Mommy & Me classes Graham and I took in South Africa.  Who says that the 2nd baby doesn't get the same attention?  Not me!  I think it's just as much for me as it is for the children.  I hold these moments near and dear to my heart.
