A few weeks back, Graham told me he wanted to eat pizza. This is a tall order for a gluten + dairy + egg + nut + sesame free diet. I told him we would have it on his birthday. After a bazillion phone calls to local grocery stores, I finally found one. Joel drove clear across town to get it. I was worried Graham wouldn't like it after all that effort (that's happened before). He doesn't always like to try new things, so I darn near had to force him to eat the first bite, but then he liked it and ate almost all of it. :)
He asked for candles, so I smooshed 5 candles into chocolate chip cookies for him. He also asked for fruit snacks and skittle, so he had a few of those too (about 5 of each to prevent sugar rush). :)
Macy was not about to go without sweets!!
After dinner & treats, Graham opened a few presents. He got a present from Joel's aunt and uncle who live out of state and Joel's brother's family who were unable to come into town for Graham's party, so it was nice that he had a couple things to open.
Macy is going through a phase where she wants to try everything on, so of course she wrapped the shirt around her neck and then swiped my phone and started texting people. Typical Macy!
When it was time for bed I laid with Graham and we talked about the day. He said he loved his birthday and he had so much fun. We talked about his party that was coming up and the rest of the fun stuff we were going to do to celebrate the big 5!!
