Elf on the Shelf- Meet Bob

On December 9, 2012, we started the Elf on the Shelf tradition at our house.  I think our elf was waiting for us to finally sit down as a family and read the book.  When we got to the end of the book, that's when you name the elf.  Graham selected the name "Bob."  My dad should be flattered since that's his name.  :)  Maybe next year Macy will give the elf a middle name.

After we read the book, Graham found where Bob was sitting.  He was sitting on his bookshelf.

Graham had a lot of fun finding him each day.  Macy was usually on my hip as we followed Graham around while he looked.  Bob had some easy spots, but some harder spots too.  Here are a few of the spots he picked to watch from.

Hanging off the kitchen light fixture.

It took Graham a while to find him hiding behind the angel.  He thought that was so funny.

He is hanging from the window in Graham's Little People airplane.

On Christmas Eve, we had to say goodbye to Bob until he comes to visit us again next year.  He made some friends while he stayed with us so on Christmas Eve, he read them a story and said, "See you next year!"

Welcome Bob. We have a year-round Curious George who hides for story time as well as for endless games of winter hide-and-go-seek.
